    It's been a Mongrel week!

The past 10 or so days have just been a bitch!!
For starters it has been 40 - 48 degrees every day & even though I have lived up here for 30 odd (very odd) years it has started to get to me.
Then our office printer decided to carck it. So I can't print, scan, file or do any basic office work. I have almost 2 weeks of notes of all the stuff I have to file, print & scan once the new printer arrives.
Then some kids turned of our ice creamn display freezers, so throw away a couple of grand of ice cream which I can't replace as the last truck for 3 weeks had already left Mt Isa!
Monday morning at 3am the Roadhouse alarms went off, I drag myself out of bed, grab my touch & thongs & walk out the back door to be sprayed immediatly in the face with a chemical fire extingisher!! After choking, spluttering, falling down the stairs & dropping my tourch I finally got over to the Roadhouse (we live about 5 meters behind it) to find the rear door trashed & a hell of a mess. Took me about an hour to re-secure the place & by then I couldn't I couldn't get to sleep & I can still tast the extingisher.
To top all that of I was driving the forklift into the shed late yesterday to lock up when it blew a hydrolic hose!!

So, MERRY BLOODY CHRISTMAS & a Happy 2020!!

Life will improve once you hand the D2 down to SWMBO and take possession of a D4.

The dear teenaged children who spent over an hour breaking in to the Roadhouse (fun watching the security footage) had perlioned 1 of our extingishers that due to WH&S rules we must hang unsecured & accessible in various places around the Roadhouse.
Looking at the footage as 2 of the little darlings have entered the Roadhouse the third, the "Cockatoo", stood between our house door & the Roadhouse back door. As soon as he saw the house back door start to open & let go with the fire extinguisher in that direction, I walked straight into it.
After I had re-secured the Roadhouse I went home & had a shower, still have a sore throat & eyes, had a rash yesterday but that seems a lot better today.

Whilst I was staggering about in a cloud of horrible chemical the 3 of them bolted.

Not the worst, over the years of attending break ins both here & when I ran the Retail Store I've had concrete blocks, steel bars, bolt cutters, bottles of Coke & other stuff thrown at me. Windows smashed in my face, a couple of wrestles, 1 or 2 punch ups, my teeth kicked out, taken knives off people & had a 410 shot gun pointed at me.

Now that I am older I try to be a little more thoughtful before charging in - but - when the bloods up?

During the gold rush era in the Gulf and Cape the prospectors and settlers used Snider breech loading rifles to deal with badly behaving locals. I suppose this is not considered politically correct these days.
