Gosh, it must be tough living in a state where your vehicle has to actually be inspected before renewing the rego. Up here any old rust bucket gets through just by paying the bill. Hence the number of cars with only one headlight working.

On grumpy old buggers, here's a quote from W. C. Fields: 'People who hate children and small dogs can't be all bad.'

Also liked this one: 'TV is called a medium because none of it is well done.'

Plenty of cars here with only one headlight anyway. An annual inspection does not affect this. In fact, if you compare statistics between states, it is hard to find any evidence that it does anything except ensure a small, regular, income for mechanics.

Yep try it here in NZ, anything older than 2000 model, 6 monthly inspection. A rort. 6 months rolls around real quick when you have a heap of 'old' vehicles.

I was brought up to to be always on time or early for a professional appointments , now i have to be reminded and to reply to a bloody Text Message saying i will be attending , I made that guarantee when i booked , i do not reply and seem to be able to make it time without a problem . Just waiting for someone to bitch about me not replying .

My pet hate is rocking up early or on time, then having to wait an hour or more to see the 'professional'

A while back i went to see my usual Doc,8.00am appointment,he wandered in at 9.26am.

The receptionist accidentally let on he had been doing 'night doc' at some other practise 4 nights a week.

    I don't go there anymore.

She could have said something like he saved some body's kids life etc. to justify his lack of punctuality.

Even through the day's consults they can still get way behind it seems, caused by yackety yack patients or indeed late ones which shifts the whole system out of gear.
Yes, it is a bloody nuisance when that happens especially when you see them rock up & then it takes 10 hours to see you.

My best doctor story is when I arrived at 1430 for a 1500 doctor's appointment - and got in to see him at just after 7pm - and there were still two patients in the waiting room.
