    Plumbers backside

Big tank covers the toilets and several thousand + litres spare for the other things. The other things were left for me to plumb. I am crap. Every thing leaks.
First Try- High pressure PVC line run from tank, under the house to the front. LEAKED
Added a tap in at the start of my new bit to allow the dunnys to flush

2nd try tonight was all brass with several wraps of HD teflon tape. Added two extra lines and taps to each. Water on and a slow drip

Considering ripping all my additions out and using Sharkbite.

Before you call me a tight arse I called a plumber who do the rest of the work here and well- Nope. Nice chap but not interested. Called another plumber booked in Dec. He did not turn up but promised to after Xmas. Two more called did not turn up.

    AAAAARGH

A lot of plumber's nowadays use liquid thread sealant, and you can even get it now after hours at your local big green shed. I bought some a while back but haven't had to use it yet, the stuff a plumber put on my direct pipe from solar hot water is still holding. EnduraSeal 50ml Liquid Threadseal | Bunnings Warehouse

When working with PVC Pipe it is important to ensure that when preparing joints & connections that the fittings (even brass ones) & the pipes are first wiped down at the joint location not the whole pipe, with the correct Priming Fluid (before applying any glue) which cleans & etches the pipe, but be quick when you join 2x PVC surfaces together. Usually pink or Green so there is no mistaking the clean surfaces. Generally cleanliness is paramount for a good joint. No wet pipes or fittings but dry as well.

NB. There is a right way & a wrong way to apply Teflon tape to a thread

ie. You don't want it pushing away from the thread but being drawn into it as the fitting tightens.

Some brass fittings need a bit of roughing up of the thread so the tape doesn't slide around it but grips. Allow the joint to set before applying water pressure.

That is about it really, Bon Chance.

If none of this works give the GP Rooms a miss & enlist in the RAN UW Recovery Section. Again.

If you **** it up give me a shout, I should be able to get there post Xmas 2024.

NB. I have not had any experience with the stuff Randy uses but on the face of it it does appear to do what it says on the tin. Worth a go.

Muppets classed as Racist by Disney

So, it has come to this! Surely the people who think these things up are in need of some serious psychological assessments or, perhaps they have the intestinal fortitude and spinal strength of a marsh mellow.
