I have to often drive my 92yo mum to shopping etc and I am surprised at the ratio of mothers with prams parking spots to disabled spots - in most carparks there are twice the number of mum's carparks to disabled and of course the disabled ones are all full so I end up parking in the mum's with prams spots - along with everyone else.

Having said all that, part of the issue with disabled spots is that many do not have time limits and workers who are disabled just park there all day so other disabled users cannot use them.

    If you've ever owned a 109" you'll agree it's not 'parking' it's 'berthing'.

Yes, I'm glad she doesn't drive one of those now or she'd need to have Rocket lines fired shore wards on a breezy day to fetch the mooring lines. Oh, probably a Tug or two as well.

    Just Kidding.

I've seen a few "Seniors" parking spaces but will not use them, even though I qualify, as I like to think that some senior who doesn't have the joy of a good physical state can make use of the space.

Just because you're "Entitled" to something doesn't mean you should avail yourself of the entitlement.

If you are no longer capable of tapping a Temprite into a 5 gallon keg, you're knackered!

As one with a Disabled parking permit and also a daily gym, swim ride rehabilitation bad habit I often chuckle at the able bodied types who wait for ages at the front parking when load of parking is just a few rows back. I cannot help but smile when they jump on treadmills or bikes

Not a grumpy old bugger in this case just a Smug Mug with "temporary" 12 month parking privileges for my Disco.

I have followed your lead Satich. Was in a very plum disabled parking spot when I noted a rather less able waiting. I moved to the back row and hobbled

So far the seniors spots I have seen have all been occupied, so I haven't been able to use one yet.
