Sold some shares with settlement due for the cash transfer 3 days ago.

I called the Quasi Government organization to confirm they got the $1 -They did

    Should be easy right?

    Issue one
Share settlement $$$ was not in account this morning. It appeared at 5pm

Fixed via Moved a small amount from a credit account I never use to my account to then transfer the needed funds to the new account I had already confirmed with a prior transfer.

    Issue Two
Bank transfer to the new bank account using the saved details from the transfer 3 days ago 'saved by the bank'
Bank Blocked it saying as it was the FIRST TIME it would take 24 hours Called the kind bank who advise they have a new policy that for five days after the first time it is the first-time process I could wait until Monday or cancel the transfer and do the GO TO THE BANK FOR CASH

Transaction canceled by the bank while on the phone I go to the bank and ask for $$$ cash please. It was like asking to see someone's private parts. ONE HOUR later $$$$ in hand I walk 50 metres to the new bank and .....

    Issue Three
New bank said they cannot take cash with out a document showing where it came from. The nice new $100 bills and the cash transaction reporting act???? Back to first bank asking for a receipt for the transaction. Back to new bank and 30 minutes later my $$$ showed in the account

    Issue Four
Transfer the Quasi Government organization from the new account stored by the prior $1 fail safe check blocked saying I had exceeded my daily limit New account online chat failed. New account bank staff with 2 minutes to their closing time did it,

hours later Transfer the Quasi Government organization from the new account done. Got home to find a letter from the State Revenue office about an over due land tax bill (Granny Flat for family)

    Tax transfer worked instantly

Beer in hand Some days or these dayz!

But but but, yer gotta remember, they is looking AFTER THE SECURITY OF YOUR SWAG of $$$$. Possibly.

Post my late wife's passing on 6th June (D Day) I have had it up to my goolies with the actions of some of these banks et al. to get back the dosh that we loaned them. They take it quit happily without all the ballcocks but when it comes to retrieving it from them they make it so bloody hard, for what?

I feel for you James, I know where you're coming from. I'm forever having problems with my bank too, only in my case it's not $$$$, it's more lack of $$$$.

Ned had the right idea! It is a national disgrace how the banks rule supreme over everybody.
I spent years living in 3rd world countries and did not have to put up with the rude arrogant attitude encountered here just about every day.

Lucky you, OF. I get the DIY on the computer, phone, device, or a hole in a faceless wall. I don't think my bank employs real people.

Interesting choice of song, seeing it was used in the movie about Sydney crooks, "Two Hands".

Not really grumpy. Job got done

One really funny bit is my Driver's License. Its Digital! Both banks staff had never seen one and both took 30ish minutes finding out if they could accept it. Dopey me left my wallet at home assuming it was a 5 minute run I was doing

The staff all appeared a bit nervous of scams. One I was withdrawing from offered me a bank cheque for free rather than the cash

All the staff were laughing along with me - I was not grumpy with them. Amazed at what would be a few minutes to do on my computer took all afternoon would be an understatement plus

"Two Hands" is a great movie John Powder Finger just rocks it for me in an ironic sense

Bank Scams are getting out of control, so caution is welcome with my money.

    Well, I'm certainly grumpy!

I went and got my second shingles vaccination last Thursday and whilst waiting, I overheard the 'Injector' say to someone in the next cubicle that she was just back from having the 'flu.
She duly appeared, wearing a mask and gave me the injection.

Now, a few weeks ago, we decided to take the rough, tough, farm dog on a beach holiday, so we booked a lovely little house, from Monday to Friday, at Rainbow Beach. The house is about 150 metres from the Surf Club, pub, cafes,,,you get the idea.

Anyway, come Sunday morn, I wake up feeling like I'd just driven over by a D9 and sheep's foot roller..

No Rainbow for me, or Henry the Hound unfortunately, as he does not always adhere to Helen's commands.

Helen went up with a friend instead and keeps sending me photos.

On ND's post about his licence, the rental agency for the Rainbow house asked for a photo, front and back, of our Helen's credit card. On making a phone call and saying 'No' to that, they advised that we don't have to, as no renters have been happy with the idea and that it was just part of their company protocol!

p.s. I hope the AULRovers whom I had lunch with last Friday, are hale and hearty.

Times 1000. That's what the numbers are for.

Slightly different, but I had a mob ask me for the same with my DL. Why? It has numbers as well. After a recent-ish data breach at my ISP VicRoads issued me with a new DL as my info 'may' have been at risk... This DL has a new number printed on it for security, rather like the CVV ( only longer... VicRoads, right? ) on the credit card. Why would I give them that?
