Using their messaging method gets one a bot which is GAAAHHH!

I cancelled my internet and phone with Optus but they are still charging me. I'm trying to get that fixed. It's a nightmare.

I'm hopeless with accents. My wife watches Shetland, I don't because I can hardly understand a word they are saying. Ditto with some Irish Customs programme she watches. They're unintelligible. My wife doesn't like turning on sub-titles.

I liked the programmes Guy Martin did but I have difficulty understanding his Lincolnshire accent. The problem is that his programmes don't have sub-titles available.
    .

His accent was truly terrible for OSeas sales of the series. I think I am familiar with most UK accents but his was really Ratsch.S> I can understand Spud ok though..

There will be a day of reckoning. Either a brick wall, an operable trapdoor or a blood streaked block of wood.

Just do as my mate, and now I do, hang up until you get one you can understand, I'm also with Optus and I find they sound American from the Philippines which I can understand, ringing India can be very difficult, hence the hang up method.

If you can find Guy Martin shows on YouTube they have an auto-generated subtitles feature.

Last week I drove into my garage and bumped a bit of timber off an old table my Dad made which fell nail side up and damaged my front left tyre! Luckily, I'd bought the Pirellis with free puncture repair, so had it fixed for free instead of $49. This week I took the D3 to my mechanic who said he could tell I'd taken it to a tyre shop, who'd used a 12-sided socket instead of six, as the nuts should just fall out of the rattle gun socket, not have to be pulled out!

Sorry for any one offending by this. The NUTTERS who killed this child should be locked up for life or much worse

"Members of an Australian religious group have gone on trial accused of killing an eight-year-old diabetic girl by denying her medical care and offering prayer instead.Elizabeth Struhs was found dead at a home in Toowoomba - about 125km (78 mi) west of Brisbane - in January 2022, after she had allegedly gone without insulin for several days.
Prosecutors say the sect shunned the use of medicine and trusted God to “heal” the child - “extreme beliefs” which had already almost ended Elizabeth’s life in similar circumstances three years before.
The girl's parents are among the 14 defendants, all of whom have refused lawyers.

They have also all opted to enter no pleas on the charges. Formally, the court considers that a plea of not guilty."

They're all representing themselves. As the saying goes, the person who represents themself, has a fool for a client. The saying may have been coined by the legal profession, but in this case, it's so apt.

    Sorry- two is too much

"An investigator backed the World Anti-Doping Agency's handling of a doping case involving 23 Chinese swimmers, while also publishing notes highlighting WADA's own science director expressing doubts about China's explanation of how the athletes had been subject to contamination."

WADA is crook in my thoughts! Cheats are cheats

    Paying a bill

A large ish bill was due today for a Quasi Government organization. A New account from a new Bank Account- What could go wrong?

Steps - New bank set up very easily on Monday. $X transferred to it from another account to make sure large amount landed in the right place. $1 paid same day to the Quasi Government organization bank account. First time so it took 24 hours.
Sold some shares with settlement due for the cash transfer 3 days ago.

I called the Quasi Government organization to confirm they got the $1 -They did

    Should be easy right?

    Issue one
Share settlement $$$ was not in account this morning. It appeared at 5pm

Fixed via Moved a small amount from a credit account I never use to my account to then transfer the needed funds to the new account I had already confirmed with a prior transfer.

    Issue Two
Bank transfer to the new bank account using the saved details from the transfer 3 days ago 'saved by the bank'
Bank Blocked it saying as it was the FIRST TIME it would take 24 hours Called the kind bank who advise they have a new policy that for five days after the first time it is the first-time process I could wait until Monday or cancel the transfer and do the GO TO THE BANK FOR CASH

Transaction canceled by the bank while on the phone I go to the bank and ask for $$$ cash please. It was like asking to see someone's private parts. ONE HOUR later $$$$ in hand I walk 50 metres to the new bank and .....

    Issue Three
New bank said they cannot take cash with out a document showing where it came from. The nice new $100 bills and the cash transaction reporting act???? Back to first bank asking for a receipt for the transaction. Back to new bank and 30 minutes later my $$$ showed in the account

    Issue Four
Transfer the Quasi Government organization from the new account stored by the prior $1 fail safe check blocked saying I had exceeded my daily limit New account online chat failed. New account bank staff with 2 minutes to their closing time did it,

hours later Transfer the Quasi Government organization from the new account done. Got home to find a letter from the State Revenue office about an over due land tax bill (Granny Flat for family)

    Tax transfer worked instantly

Beer in hand Some days or these dayz!
