Why most worksites have banned A frame ladders.
In construction it's platform ladders, scaffolding or scissors only.

I believe most visits to the ED from weekend handyman accidents are ladder falls

And the boys even have these bluetooth electronic gauges with temp probes and clamps,so from the cold room, they know all the system pressures and temps, superheats, even if the unit is way up on the roof.Using their phones.

I haven't got a set, just use the old Imperial Eastman gauges, they do me.

oh,and feel the pipes for temps,a bit of spit on the discharge to see how hot it is...
I've had a Bluetooth Testo Hygrometer and vacstat for a few years.
The vacstat is an expensive waste of time, to inaccurate, I've just bought a CPS to replace it, but the hygrometer is great. I use it all the time to check the calibration of temp and RH sensors, just sit it in place and walk away.
I think the superheat clamps would be really good too, I still do it old school.

Love my analogue 4 port Imperial manifold.

I've used the Testo electronic ones a few times, it's handy to dial in your refrigerant and have all the temps plus pressures on the screen but my gauges hardly every come out, most all the gear we work on have transducers everywhere and a controller like the Emerson E2 so you can see what's going on with a couple of button pushes

And a big problem with this is that as we age our balance deteriorates, it's something we really need to work at.
And I think part of the issue is we are an urban society with little outdoor activity and any walking outside is generally on paved, level surfaces.

I used to tell the yoga ladies who were mostly on the upper side of 40 to practice putting socks on standing up (they were mostly farm girls), practice lithe things like that.

............& a hand in front of a fan to check Air Flow, Quantity & temp? Yeah Paul, who needs all that fancy schmancy kit anyway?

    Yeah, me too.
I was sceptical about them as well, but once you start to use them, you find out how good they are.
Many AC units these days fault when superheat is not correct, saves having LP switches.
Put the electronic gauges on,with clamp sensors, and there is the superheat values in front of your nose...
    Easy As

    But i still don't have a set...

Oh,and setting up cold rooms with R448,we were going blind, new so never used the stuff before.
    The electronic gauges sorted it.
But i still put a bit of spit on the discharge,to make sure its not to hot

OK,agree with others, lets continue in the Frdgies thread, before they all get to grumpy.
