At our ages 'er indoors usually drives home while I do the driving out. Doing this shares the driving & keeps one's driving Skills, reactions & awareness current, something for you to remember as you get older.

Also it is a bit handy if one has a few drinks while out. I'm not silly yer know it's just how my mother dresses me. (Old saying that young buggers may not be aware of.)

Also allows the Passenger to keep up to date (as much as one can) with the changes to Roads, Roundabouts etc & other changes the buggers foist upon us surreptitiously.

It also allows me the pleasure of having an unpaid spoken Speed Alert System.

Better with two of you as four eyes looking through the windscreen are usually better than two.

I try and keep SWMBO awake for that reason, particularly on country trips.

One day she saw the roo I didn’t,luckily a show stopper was diverted

Right on Paul. They don't appreciate the window wound (do people still "wind" windows up & down anymore) down for some cold, fresh air I've noticed. "Put the window up Mr4 bee it's playing hell with my hair".

Today's heaters can be too efficient & make one a bit dozy.

Until a a year or two ago, I estimate 90% of my roughly four hour trips with 4 other pairs of eyes in my Disco, had only my eyes open. Just noted a very grumpy sort going a bit nuts due to a slow car in the right lane. Left lane was free as usual. Turning right and giving way to oncoming traffic is sooooooo rude at least according to a few self entitled people . I did wonder if I should hope out and walk back to ask if they were ok? I was honestly smiling thinking of the stress some people give themselves. Had a car do a right turn in front of me - I missed but just. I did consider the impact of the person who did similar while I was on my motor bike. Not smiling as much for that VIP. I took a dash cam out of my old D3. must get it put into the new one

Compared to Doomadgee Mt Isa & Cairns are the Big Smoke.
Just ask Ian (V8) how I went in Brisbane a couple of years ago, Bloody Hell!!
Even Cloncurry annoys me, it's got roundabout things & signs with writting on them, they are usually red, & all sorts of confusing/distracting stuff on/near the road.
Must brush up sometime on what they all mean.

Peak 60 seconds in Kynuna and/or McKinley is stressful.
You did okay, Paul, unlike so many locals, you managed to not hit anything.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Oh, Gawd. Just saw in the 'Corona Virus' thread that there's a 2nd wave happening, somewhere in Kantkareistan.
Geez, I'm so looking forward to another 1,268 pages in the thread, of people supplying readily available information.

On the driving topic,i pulled this out of the left rear tyre on my work Van today.

Tyre didn't go down, its part of a screwdriver, was in the tyre parallel to the tread,if you know what i mean.

Ya gotta be optimistic Paul. You're only up for a phillips, not a tyre and phillips.
