The NOT my problems Bank called me asking for another little bit of MY problem Have to chuckle- they asked for my accountant who did the nice work on the first bits details! I do it myself so took it a a compliment they assumed a real accountant did the work I sent them

The other bit of NOT MY PROBLEM was completed withing the new one hour time frame. I do wonder if their accountant would ever do what I have done instantly and how much they must pay their accountant if they did

    Bureaucracy gone mad.

One of my grandchildren turned eighteen on Sunday. They planned to change their name legally yesterday (with support of parents, and had researched how to do it). So they rolled up to the local Service NSW yesterday morning, complete with plenty of ID - passport, school ID, bank statement.

Nope, not enough ID - you need a utility bill in your name, or a superannuation statement (how many 18yos still living at home and going to school have these?). However, the documents you have will allow us to issue you with a proof of age card (only take a week or two), and this can then be used to identify you for your change of name application. Of course, when the change of name goes through, this card will have to be reissued with the new name.

Can anyone see the logic in this?
