    Post office closure

Well, starting at 0900 this morning, I phoned my Federal Member and Australia Post.

Not very productive, as the government is in caretaker mode and the MHR is retiring - which was effective when the writs were issued. His staff is still in his office, but are effectively out of a job - I assume they were given notice - and obviously hoping that their bosses party wins again (largest margin in NSW I believe, but some of this will obviously go when he does, but there is no prominent independent or minor party, and it is very unlikely the ALP candidate will get enough preferences), but obviously nobody is going to assume this and no federal agency or corporation is going to take any notice while the government is still in caretaker mode. But at least the staff know about the issue, and may just end up in a similar position after the election. Effectively, I don't have a Federal member at the moment.

Australia Post at least acted concerned, but after half an hour on hold and a twenty minute conversation, it became clear that I know more about the situation than they do, although they may have more information locally, it was not immediately accessible to their staff dealing with phone calls. However they did promise to see if they could find some information about what they were doing about it. I gave them my phone number and email.

Bank branches and Post Offices almost need heritage listing now John. ATMS are being ripped out at an alarming rate as well.

The Bank Book has Noting my several months pay deposits into a bank book on a warship left me grumpy when trying to get some cash out as the deposit slips left unexpectedly to a coup in Fiji I think.

Now its passwords and pins? Thankfully two factor authentication is becoming compulsory.

A lot of the atm's they installed lately are inside shopping centres, so you can't get to them at night when the shops close, grrrr.

There's plenty here, but they're all private ones that charge $3 per transaction.

    KRAKEN EXCHANGE KRAKEN Scam

Just asked to verify an account via an online sales site. I picked it as a scam when it showed a me BANK log on page with the URL being way off target. Sadly the "KRAKEN EXCHANGE KRAKEN" began emptying the Debit card linked. The time on the phone from the first to the last was time enough for it to be drained.

New card, Disputed transactions fun and now of course I have to reset all the direct debits yet again

Bank was helpful and knew the name of course. Where or why repeated scammers are allowed to exist is a question I may as prior to voting - And which polling booth has a democracy Suasage of course. Never forget the important bits

    Are People Really This Stupid?

I was making a cuppa yesterday evening and could hear the weatherman, on the telly.

He stated that, "Sunset will be at five-thirteen P.M.!"

    Really? How unusual!

What annoys me with the weather is when they say temperatures will be early or late twenties, instead of low or high twenties, as the former applies to age not temperatures.

Hmmph. What annoys me is that high or low, early or late, it's only going to 15° here today... And wet...

My accountant is being annoying, as they moved to Ipswich whereas before they were much closer then they didnt finish my return off yesterday, now they've emailed it to me to sign and pay but signature doesn't seem to work on the phone as I'm not paying for a PDF reader.

I eventually had to print, sign, scan and email it. Would've been quicker to jump in my car and drive down there.

    PTA a Firearm in Queensland

On the 26th of March I applied for a PTA for a Pedersoli replica of an American Civil War carbine. Its a Black Powder gun and does not use metalic cartridges. Its a Capping Breech loader. I have lived here for over 25 years, owned guns for 60 and now have half the number I had two years ago.
Why does it take six weeks and still counting to issue the PTA. It should only take 10 minutes to check and rubber stamp it. The way its going we will be in the same boat as West Australia where they suddenly decided that legal firearms one owned were now illegal and owners were given a short time to dispose of them or be confiscated.
I am lucky my local gun shop is not charging me storage I could be dead before I get to use it.
