I got a cheque from Ergon for $800 odd. Didnt say what for so I had to go to town to bank it at the ANZ.
As I had never used these machines before it took some time to work out how to deposit a cheque. Anyway it got banked OK so I thought I would withdraw some cash. Took out $300. Later I got home and logged into my bank statements and saw I got charged $9 for the withdrawal fee
Makes the private $3 ones look cheap.

I believe that Aussie Post do not charge for cash withdrawals. What your particular bank charges for this facility is of course another matter. Each bank is different.

Coles and Woolies don't charge for cash out if you're paying for the groceries from a non-credit A/C.

As do Aldi. Does it get added to the grocery bill so that the bank doesn’t see it? Or do the supermarkets pay something? I simply can’t be bothered trying to understand how banks gouge us.

We have a PO in town but they dont deal with ANZ so could not even deposit it there or get cash out

Oh. Didn’t know that. Probably the PO doesn’t pay enough.

When I was in the RO last Tuesday to pick up my mail, I had plenty of time to look at all the posters on the back wall while they were looking for mail. One of them was advertising their banking services, and I noticed that there were only three of the big four banks listed, although I could not tell you which one was missed out, but your story about the ANZ rings true. I was surprised that one had not participated.

Moved to my new place near the water and not really the city. No Mail box. The only store here is the General store/post office. I should have checked a bit more closely before I brought and up a mail box.

No Postie here. Pick up from the local only

Any one wanting a almost new never touched by mail can have it. ( A Bunnings cheapy anyway)

Definitely problems looming. e.g. If ND's box is number 6 and the recipient lives at number 9, all the mail will fall out.
