As racist as anything but he would put on pub shows in the north and the places would be packed out with the local aborigines all laughing, chuckling and chortling. Particularly the jokes about his mate Morton. Morton is one of those characters who attract trouble. Every aboriginal family (and a lot of whites) has a Morton with whom the audience could identify.
