Got a Google Home from secret santa.

I never thought I'd be guilty of talking to a thing on my kitchen hob , where it is currently located , but I am

...but it's good if you can tolerate stuff like this in your modern world.

She has been playing some fabulous blues for the last 3 hours...because I asked her to.

Merry Xmas to you all and I look forward to as many arguments over the next 12 months.

Watch out , next you will have google Home compatible light bulbs throughout your house.

I actually got into a disagreement with my google assistant & its response was "typical Don" ...... haven't been able to replicate that one.

    Judgement day is nearing !

Our house has become automated and currently using the Amazon Alexa version.

We do have Apple HomeKit and Google as well.

It’s great to have scenarios etc and control the home purely by voice.

In my case a simple “Alexa, Turn on the Workshop” has the workshop doors open, the lighting come on and the cooling/heating engage. Radio comes on and it’s time to play.

When finished a simple “Alexa, secure Workshop” shuts it all up.

We also have a Goodnight function that locks the doors, shuts everything but the Master bedroom AC and Fan off and sets the alarm.

I wouldn't bother. I can't get my iPhone to recognise any voice commands when I'm riding my motorbike. If I ask it to call home or Elisabeth, it calls people I don't wish to speak to or it just says "Pardon?" At least my L322 understands some voice commands.

By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

"Tell Me A Joke" is as frightening as the Christmas bon bon jokes It affects me

"Discuss nuclear fusion" is interesting. Hey Google is weird and fun. Settles a lot of disagreements quickly and in some smug mugs favor to a point I am not allowed to any more

Did you do the voice training?

And once it starts learning the better it gets. Mine gets it right 99/100.

I've not had much luck with voice training on the phone or with Dragon Simply Speaking - in the end, I gave up.

I just came across this tonight on YouTube.
