We got to and through a fire 20km from Balladonia this time last year on a 4wd track. Better half nearly had kittens.

Much of that country is rough and fires are like remote areas here, only really completely extinguish but a lot of rain.

I wonder where all the food which is not making it to Perth is going? Bargains in
    Ceduna or back to Adelaide?

Well if the water was a waste they should've used the hose/s as towrope/s to save the Landies.

May I remind all that any person performing work, paid or unpaid, is entitled to the same protections and rights/ responsibilities. There has been a bit of weaseling here in queensland lately by QFES in an attempt to limit their exposure here, but that won't help them if they attempt to deny a rightful claim.
The precedent has been set in a Qld court where a church was found guilty in the death of a volunteer tree lopper. Queensland family of teenager killed while tree lopping at church event furious over sentence - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

The locals who remain are up for the fight. Here's hoping they don't have to. I admire their spirit, hope they all remain safe. It's almost like we are at War, and I guess we are, with nature. Mother Earth is not happy. EDIT. the yellow wheelie bin will take on a special significance to some now.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

    Now, Kangaroo Island is burning.

Umm, that would explain the message I’ve received about an urgent order of stainless I’ve ordered coming from Perth to Brisbane.
