I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Has settled down a bit now and we should be fine so long as the winds don't work against us. The local Potato Point RFS is doing an absolutely fantastic job, along with the other local brigades and others from further afield who've come to help. Had the chopper filling up at the beach and dumping water on the fires for the last couple of days. The whole house shakes when it flies overhead.

    Stay safe everyone.
I assume you saw the three water bombers in action down your way today.

I was fishing on Tuross Lake this afternoon and the three fixed wing aircraft were filling quite close to where I was fishing and heading down towards the Potato Point Road.

I also noticed a helicopter with a bucket and the big Erikson working on the Potato Point fire.

Yesterday I was manning the gate at the Moruya showground and the aircraft which were filling from the river were concentrating on the fires west of Moruya. Today they were concentrating on Potato Point.

Based on the resources in action down here, it seems that for the last couple of days, the fires near us have become a fairly high priority.

Here is a map to show why envee and I have seen so much fire activity and fire suppression activity in the last couple of days.
Note the scale in the bottom left to get an idea how close the fires are to Potato Point.
