In 2018 I paid a visit to the WWI Memorial outside Rabaul. Well worth a visit to learn some Australian/PNG history. The local staff is very respectful and keeps the grounds and cemetery immaculate.

A tribute to the Royal Oak. What made this more tragic was the number of boy sailors on the Royal Oak. Not regarded as a front line battleship, she was being used as a training ship.
Gunther Prien was lost with all the crew of U47, 0n their 10th voyage.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

The AE1 was discovered , on the bottom. After surveying the wreckage, it was concluded that she had dived with an air vent to the engine room jammed open. She hit the bottom that hard the fin or conning tower , if you wish, broke off from the hull, and leaned over the fwd end of the boat.

And what of AE2? The first submarine to penetrate the Dardanelles, she had possibly a disproportionate influence on the Gallipoli campaign.
