What ever happened to the 'do not call register' ? It didn't stop politicians or overseas calls but it was a start.

Charities and research organisations are also exempt.

Since charities became picky on what they take - normally an ongoing direct debit from your credit card these days - I no longer give except where I know money will go direct to those in need.

I never give to the Red Cross because they divert money given for particular causes and projects to other areas (been caught out a few times) and the other is the Heart Foundation - their "tick" is meaningless as companies have to buy it.

In the outback I no longer give to the RFS - they are an organisation very much worthy of assistance but they have been Government funded since the 1930s and are well known, so everyone gives to them at the detriment to other worthy outback charities competing for the charity $ - so I try to give to outback charities who are struggling to get $$ to help their communities - nothing against the RFS but they woud still be there doing the job even without public charity.

I got a call from Mr Singh offering to organise my number to be on the Official Australian Government do not call register.
For a small fee of course.
    They never give up!
I often think about using a screening service to filter the calls.
    Cheers

If you have a soft spot for RFS type charity , perhaps try Life Flight......they are very good in their endeavours, even the pilots care.....not something can be said about the RFS professionals.

Yes , but the problem is that the Do Not Call Register dose not apply to charities & Political Parties at election time.

Unless there is a name with the Phone call i just let the answering machine handle it , hardly anyone leaves a message . After about 3/4 months the Robo machines give up on our number and now hardly get any nuisance calls at all . .

Im old and get bored easily.

I often take the calls and talk about there voice, accent, how it turns me on and perhaps what they may be wearing.
Getting deeper and discussing my fantasies.
Never had a call last longer than i can talk.

They HATE IT! And if its a scammer/spammer then hey why not give them a bit of there own medicine back.

Plus its kind of fun. See how long you can keep them on the line.

Its literally turned into a family thing where we all sit down and listen to dad talk crap to scammers.

22 minutes is my best keeping scammers talking, they are all scammers. They are calling "On behalf of" means they cream off up to 75% then pass on whats left to the next level of graft. Most of the big charities have to earn millions before any dollar's start to trickle down. If you Google any of the charities it's very hard to find out how much the CEO's and high level employees are on.
