adnic is the product of a bunch of my clients & mates who knew a number of adams so i was shortened in the great aussie tradition to adnic (adam nicholas)
it's great for the business though..catchy!![]()
Barra1 came about on one of my fishing trips to the NT. Two boats - and when we caught a barra we would get onto the radio with the call "Barra1 to Barra2" - you hear that and you knew the blokes in the other boat had caught a barra worthy of mention....tended to ignore their calls after a while.
I got a bigger boat and enforced the rule - I've got the big boat so I'm now Barra1 - regardless
I guess if my name changes to Barra2 it means "Ducky" (my fishing mate) has got himself a bigger boat than mine.![]()

I had heard that it was because you had managed to land one barra only
Mine has come from refering to everyone as 'olmate'. The car was going to be Daktari at the time but I couldn't get that on a number plate in Darwin and not too many blokes understood it or knew of the TV show. Olmate has stuck compliments to my little niece who continues with the tradition calling most people either 'olmate' or 'ol love'.
[QUOTE=olmate;705097]I had heard that it was because you had managed to land one barra only
LOL LOL
Mine came from my initals and L R D (Land Rover Discovery) oviously. But will work well when I land a Defender in the future.

Gee Ol'Mate you nearly gave me a heart attack.
At first I thought - Bloody hell, Ol'mate has been stalking me while I've been fishing - watching me... and now knows I've only ever caught one barra.
Then I realised.........couldn't be so. Can't get a Kluger into Woollogorang.![]()
