Thread: Where does your profile name come from?

Well 2 Rocks is where I live (though sadly that might be changing soon). The plates weren't taken when I got my old Pajero so it seemed sensible to use it on various forums. Not very exciting, but...

...on AUSJEEPOFFROAD.COM I go by Shetani. Now the shetani are generally nasty devil spirits as carved by the Makonde people of eastern Africa...and the subject of a book called "Into the out of" by Alan Dean Foster. Guess those plates probably aren't taken either

When we first bought the Xtreme and I was getting used to how it handled (previous vehicle was and still is an auto Disco Series 1) I proceeded up a rock step with a little more momentum than was required and did a "vertical takeoff".

Needless to say, I don't do that now, of course, but the name stuck!

My new one comes from my nickname as i am stripping my 6.5 Rangie.

We call the Rangie "Bulldog".

My wife called her yellow Corolla "Tweety", so my car became "Sylvester", so "Bulldog" seemed to fit for the Rangie. It was supposed to be the dog's name in the Looney Tunes cartoon - the big grey dog with the little one jumping around it's feet saying "do you wanna play?". Now i think about it, its name was "Butch"... Does that sound right?

EDIT: if Butch is right, i'm not changing the Rangies name, or my user name!
