A fantastic result, meanwhile in Australia we're hiding in the cupboard and arguing about who can build the strictest quarantine facility the furthest from civilisation.......
Coronavirus: Zero daily coronavirus deaths in England for only second time since pandemic began
We've been lucky and managed the pandemic well but we are at a real risk of being left behind as the rest of the world is vaccinated and moves on.......

Wait until the next wave. India thought they had it beat too. And it wasn't luck, but the States being firm on lockdowns and all that goes with it. As for vaccinations , it's not the Mullumbimby 5g conspiracy theory bunch that puts our herd immunity at risk, but the people cancelling jab appointments because of the media led fear of a very rare event. The Australian technical advisory group on immunisation estimates blood clots occur in less than 6 cases per million vaccinated. However the media reports it as " rare ". Any one scanning stories about blood clots will get a result out of proportion to reality. As for quarantine facilities , it's no surprise that it is the Howard Springs facility that is far & away the most successful, more like it, away from major centres , are needed as a matter of priority. I had my flue jab yesterday so now I have to wait until the 29th to get my COV19 jab.
As far as I am concerned anyone who refuses the jab is a selfish moron that shouldnt be allowed at public events and need to be banned from interstate travel.
Doubt if we're going to achieve herd immunity because the virus keeps changing. At the current rate it will be mid next year before most people are vaccinated and by then we're likely to have mainly the UK variety coming in and some vaccines aren't effective against it yet. So most people will have to be re vaccinated.
On QR aps, the Qld one is very simple and quick once set up. In NSW I just use a QR reader and it has an option for people who don't have the NSW ap. It would be good if there was a single national ap.
I volunteer to be the slapper.
:eek2: you surprise me, Dennis. :whistling:
