It won't be 6.5% of those actually infected who die. Nothing like that thankfully. I don't see a great statistical value in death rate versus confirmed recovery at this early stage Death rate versus total cases recovered in a few months time will be more valuable. M2CW. It is not the case that if infected you have a 6.5% chance of not recovering. The death rate of even the elderly infected is not that high.
Cheers
Ok misunderstood but you did say in your original post
"where there has been a resolution to a confirmed covid19 infection, 18% have passed away....
in Australia this percentage is 6.56% at the moment."
So I thought that after you indicated 18% had passed away in the world then you were indicating that 6.56% had passed away in Aust but I guess you were indicating 6.56% had recovered.
I'm with you 100%.
People keep trying to put their own spin on it,....yep, even on this forum.
Infections are infections,....those figures do not lie.
The major message from me is, and cut out all the other crap is,........STAY AT HOME,....SEE NO-ONE,....STAY AWAY , ISOLATE.
Forget all the other crap, just ISOLATE, stay at home,......if ya do that, the virus cannot get to you,....FACT,.......
So that's what we're doing, staying at home, logged on to the Woolies home delivery,.....absolute crap way to live, but the best way for us to survive,.....well that's what we think.
People crap on about what ScoMo & his team are saying, but the major EASY message from the team, health experts, State Premiers is STAY AT HOME, but idiiots are still saying, why can't we do this, the Govt is not telling us etc etc........utter crap,.....just STAY AT HOME,.
Pickles.
This is not the way I read it and I don't believe it is the way Inc intended it to be read. I'll break it down.
There is x number infected (total) from that numer there is one of two outcomes, recovery and death. Yes it sounds a bit morbid.
Inc is indicating that from all the cases that have had an outcome then 6.56% have died. And on the global figures from the total infected, those that have had an outcome, the death rate is 18%.
As this progresses and more people recover then these percentages will adjust down (hopefully) but as I said every case of infection has one of two outcomes. If you look at the percentage of deaths to infections, then yes this will always be a lower figure. However, many of those currently infected have not had their outcome yet.
Unfortunately there is still no clear idea (medically) what a recovery will be like in the long term. There is some speculation that many will have some sort of lung or respiratory issues for the remainder of their lives.
