Corona Virus

If a business is allowed to trade under the current rules, then it is quite legal to go there - Bunnings or otherwise. I go early in the morning as Tradies get an hour to themselves before the masses descend.

Noticed the other day that there were almost no paint rollers or brushes at my local Bunnings - the guy said paint sales were up 600%. There’s a lot of freshly painted rooms and houses out there now - including mine, but in my defence I bought the paint some time ago and have been working through the house - current lockdown has just helped things along.

I must say most seemed to be getting stuff today at Bunnings and not just browsing.

Talking to a Big W manager last week their sales numbers are fine, interestingly it's swung quickly to online sales, but she said it seemed like a lot of people in store were merely browsing just to get out of the house, which was annoying her no end

WA still has a few
The one in Kalamunda is much like yours scarry
The owner knows his stuff and with a Bunnings only 100m away his prices are a little higher (not unreasonable) but he has the stock
The Bunnings is not a warehouse, it’s still twice the size of Mitre 10, but doesn’t have what you need
Bindoon Mitre 10 is quite good for a country hardware [emoji16]
My other choice is in Moora
2 hardwares owned by the same family

It is not quite that straight forward I think. If it's open doesn't mean you comply with the Directives by going there to buy anything. Its down south but see the discussion here:

Where essential goods and services is specifically defined as "are food and other supplies, and services, that are needed for the necessities of life and operation of society, such as food, fuel, medical supplies, and other goods"

You could argue that "necessities of life and operation of society" includes doing home renos but it sounds weak, particularly given the examples given that help interpret that phrase. Going to Bunnings for work needs or to fix an emergency issue at home sure.

Having said that if you had an emergent problem to fix by a Bunnings visit and while there you grabbed other non essentials it's hard to see that being an issue.

Bunnings delivers but often you have to see, measure and feel what you need etc.

This the first time that the gob****e & I have agreed.

I see several hundred people from the East are stranded in WA after finishing their quarantine and unable to return home. Most were cruise ship passengers.
I also wonder how many grey nomads with caravans are stuck in WA because SA and the NT have closed their borders.

Some grey nomads sold their house to buy their big 4WD and caravan or motorhome. They don't have a home to go to. I wonder what they do.

Those marooned on the West coast could knock on Trouty's door but they should be prepared to duck. Quickly.[bigrolf] I suppose they use their own accommodation & make out it is an extended vacation.
