Never asked for GPS access when I installed it.
Only asked for BT access

I clearly have not downloaded the app so have no first hand experience - on other forums people have posted screen shots where it is asking for GPS access.
However on another forum where someone was outlining their experiences with an iPhone - there was no request to access GPS.
So it would seem that in different circumstances, access may or may not be required.

Anyone else had issues registering? I can’t get past the phone number bit - looks like I’m not the only one but nothing on how to fix it.
There’s a known behaviour in Android where even if GPS is off, the phone will use Bluetooth to ascertain location.
For someone with such a web presence, and who leaves his garage unlocked [emoji12], you seem overly concerned by your phone having your location. Shame that your telco can and does already track this, as well as the usual other software embedded on your device.
The modern paranoia of this planet and it’s inhabitants [emoji1787]
Here’s why Droid does what it does:
By requiring location services to access Bluetooth, you ensure that the user understands their location information may leak when they use Bluetooth.
I guess we happily give our locations to BOM, Facebook and Google, so we could wonder why are we being so paranoid?
I like what I'm hearing, but would like everything promised re privacy to be confirmed. That requires the coding to be released, which is 2 weeks away, and legislation to be passed by parliament about the same time.
the govt doesnt have a great track record with our privacy.
now isnt the time to start trusting them
