Well so would I if I have a choice but I haven't been your way for nigh on 50 years or so when I installed a large coolroom for the baker at that time. You probably never get down this way behind Mount Lofty either.[bigsad] I can't even remember his name & google can't find him but it was the airport end of the smoke. He has probably moved on or died which really is the same thing. Maybe before your time.
Just thought. That'd make him probably 102, so if you see a very frail looking olde bloke wearing a traditional white apron covered in flour with a pasty face delivering bread, that'll be him. Possibly.[bigrolf]
I was in Mt Barker for 4 nights on 20/3-24/3 for a wedding. And I’m partial to a drink at the German Arms and a feed at Haus just over the road from you.
Yeah, that baker is well before my time. The only baker I know that closed in the last 5 years was on Playford up near the top - ran the Bakery/Cake shop.
Just out of curiosity can you remember their name?
Close but no banana. Uraidla Hotel is nice these days. Old local Pub, closed for many years, but recently refurbished & still in the old Hills style. Anyway maybe one day eh? Will also depend on this bloody Covid wottsit.
