Speaking of which, what about the two Vics who when they first presented themselves at the SA Border were turned back.



A few hours later the cops found them bogged trying to get back in again (I assume by the SA cops) further along the Border.
They will pay a pretty Penny for that little unsuccessful effort. Possibly a Remote Area Recovery as well.
It is sneaky bastards like these two who will keep this thing going 'cos they is selfish & inconsiderate towards their fellow Australians. How many are coming in by Ian's mob? If they don't stop the truck but just wave them through they could be in the sleeper cab or just ducked down behind the bodywork.

The same **** happened during the horse flu epidemic.
Most Aussies weren't affected, urban Australians just don't understand but it created a serious recession in the horsey areas like the Upper Hunter in NSW, and Beaudesert in Qld, and people were doing the most amazing things to try and get around travel restrictions, including hiding hoses inside trucks of hay. [emoji849]

Yes and when the authorities followed many up they found that despite a nice room or small unit, many were still sleeping out rough at night and using the unit to have showers, to rest up during the day and to get a meal - then moving out at night.

Shows that there are many issues associated with why the homeless are homeless - it has more to do with mental health, personal preferences rather than economics.

Why are either of these cases any different to someone travelling from Queensland to NSW and return, while the Queensland borders were closed?
Des, I seriously doubt any trucks are smuggling passengers, it would be a logistical nightmare and uneconomic, but it's the sort of beat-up likely to sell advertising space for "news" outlets.

So they have these 9 towers in lockdown - no problems but when someone is found with Covid19 they have to stay in their unit and spread to the rest of their family - elsewhere those with Covid are isolated elsewhere by themselves.

By following this practice, the ABCs Dr Norman Swan expects all 3000 residents will be infected within a couple of weeks.

Yes community transmission does occur but all the big outbreaks - the cruise ship, the nursing homes and now this outbreak are all caused by the stupidity of the authorities.

What a load of crap.
The residents of these flats are isolating inside their own units so how is it possible for them ALL to "Mingle" and contract this virus "En Mass"???
NO different than people self isolating in a house FFS.

Having had a couple of family members undergo testing, the reality is that it is pretty much impossible to self isolate one member of a family in a house that doesn't have multiple bathrooms, much less a unit. Isolation means just that, once a test is conducted the victim isn't allowed out of the room they have been confined to and the bathroom and communal areas need to be disinfected (effectively) by them every time they use it. The material handed out assumes that everyone has multiple bedrooms with ensuites and that the victim can be fed by placing a tray outside their door. I'm not sure how that translates to a housing commission flat but at least the infection is contained to one household. It would make sense to remove people who test positive from the household environment but I'm not sure that it would be feasible to do so given cultural sensitivities, language barriers and possibly the need to compel them to leave their house.
