The figures I'm finding indicate ships, be they for pleasure or business, have near-identical infection and death-rates. Obviously lower on a Navy vessel as the older vulnerable members have retired...

I realise the Jury is still out on the transfer by Air Cond. but I honestly believe that this will prove to be a huge factor in the research. Obviously, I am not a Scientist & so cannot prove this scientifically, but better brains than mine who are, will reach this conclusion one day. Mark my words.[bigsad]

If you are moving air, no matter at what Velocity, even a Low one, anything caught in the air stream will move at the speed of that air Try it with fine Talc powder..
Like my "esteemed" colleagues here we have all seen the sort of crap that "somehow" has found it's way to the final ceiling Diffuser & has travelled the whole Duct length of some hundreds of ft in some big jobs & off- branches share this crap.. That is why one sees filthy ceilings around the diffuser frame on the ceiling, but some of that comes from filters that are not routinely or thoroughly cleaned. These dirty patches consist of microscopically small particles of Aerosols.
It is not beyond human belief that some of this crap includes Covid-19 &/or other bacteria of the time & harmful to us & our lungs. Seasonal Flu is but one. If the air temperature is on heating, I can imagine it making a lovely porridge as it amplifies.
Really, I remain surprised that more AC Servicing personnel don't succumb to Lung Diseases. One just takes it in one's stride & only professional Duct Cleaners probably have the proper H & S Breathing gear. Maybe over the years we have grown "immune" to that ****. I have known a couple & they were Smokers which makes the situation far worse.
Anyway, that is how I view the causes/transfer of this pandemic. Pardon me for spouting this stuff.

Different animal to bacteria such as found with Legionnaires Disease, which needs water to exist or travel. The other main culprit in air con ducting is particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5). We often have it for lunch in Bangkok! [bigsad]

I just drove from Oakleigh to Brunswick and saw several hundred people out and about, all ages.
Of all the people I saw only two weren't wearing masks.
I actually saw even a few joggers wearing them, which they're not required to.

Yes, I’ve seen similar - almost complete compliance in the areas I’ve been to - only seen one not wearing a mask that looks like they should have been and one jogger - who made sure to keep well clear of our work team and crossed the road ahead of us which was good to see.Quote:
