On the theme of "Died of what ?" these interactive graphs from our own Dept of Stats are fun.... Looking at all causes, it looks to me like March 31 is a particularly lethal time.... Any ideas ? - Pity they don't extend another few months to (around) now.

Provisional Mortality Statistics, Jan-Jul 2020 | Australian Bureau of Statistics

Of interest too is the 'Case Fatality Rate', - stay under 59 years old, and the 'flu is more of a risk. Better still, be a female NON-smoker, with perfect (Diabetes) metabolism and B-group blood....and you're home free

I have a sneaking suspicion, that >80 years is beyond the national life-span average, and they're the most vulnerable.

Not wanting to start a Heated Discussion, but does anyone know how many 'cycles' (a.k.a. "ct") or doublings are being used in these State PCR tests ?

There was a problem (?) at the start of the Plague with different countries using different 'cycles'. eg, 34 in country A, 38 in B, 36 in C..... so a traveller is POS in B, very sick in C, - and burned at the stake in A
A difference of ONE... is actually DOUBLE the "manufacture" So 37 cycles may show nearly immeasurable, whereas the CDC suggestion of up to 40 cycles will show the sample as crawling off the machine.....

Anyway, I know someone who works in an area related to ' WA Health Department'.... going to enjoy this !

(Apologies on behalf of WA to the rest of Oz...)

Politics, Religion and Science . I think Galileo Galilei was close to being hung drawn and quartered for observing the world is not flat? He did have a few other smart ideas as well

And The good Dr Fauci has sat on both sides of the fence... 'For' and 'not needed' masking. - depending on what political points he can score at that time.... the genuine research is 'inconclusive' at best, fraudulent at worst... A military-grade CBW full face mask DOES work for most common viruses, though not sure for the miniscule SARS virus. Anyway, the ER doctors in Stockholm preferred the hot/uncomfortable CBW's to 'surgicals'.

Just a thought.... with "everyone" in Victoria still condemned to wear a surgical mask.... what is being done about SAFE disposal of these disease-ridden and dangerous, infectious and polluting-when-burned death-traps ???

Here's a pic of the solar system, had to put two up,.... to show top and bottom sides...

What - throw out - no way. This is Victoria - we recycle them.....

....or they end up littering the sides of the footpaths. Corona Virus

In truth - most people I see wear cloth face masks which can be washed and reused.

Was OK in winter - mask, scarf (it’s a Victorian thing), beanie - nice and warm. Not so good as the weather warms up.

In fact - remind me again - why do we still need to wear them when outdoors ?????? Corona Virus

But you don’t have to wear when:

    - jogging
    - eating
    - drinking
    - smoking
    - or how about - if eating lollypop’s......hmmm no one thought of that option now did they!

In all seriousness - given you are 20 times more likely to get Coronavirus when indoors where ventilation is poorer it still makes sense to mandate on public transport, or in shops, or visiting offices etc. Asian’s have known this for years.

The mask is to stop a sick person coughing on others and infecting them. Wearing a mask doesn't stop someone becoming infected, because the virus can enter through the uncovered eyes. That's why hospital staff wear face shields covering their eyes.
Unmasked infected workers without symptoms went into quarantine hotels and infected other workers.
So infected people should be required to wear masks. That's why masks are important on public transport as it only takes one unmasked infected person to infect a whole bunch of passengers.

Masks are worn to contain the aerosol droplets, that might contain the virus, of a sneezing or coughing person.

Surgeons wear the common surgical mask to protect their patients, not the other way round.

Ah - that makes sense. Because we are in Victoria we are assumed to be infected and hence we must wear a mask. Corona Virus

It could possibly prove beneficial if you threw them away & not wear them actually.

'er indoors was reading out an article a couple of days ago where it was stated that prolonged Mask wearing can have detrimental side effects because of possible shortness of Oxygen supply through them as the masks get older & fibres get gunked up.
