I can see where the poster is coming from. It seems irresponsible to fly a 100 year old person all the way to the West Indies, especially during COVID. Having said that, I haven't seen it reported any where that it actually happened. And yes, it's none of our business, anyway. As said, it is what it is, no amount of on line chat will change a thing.

I agree with what you are saying - and it certainly would not be a replacement for a PCR test.

But for pre-screening people flying interstate from low risk states, followed by self-isolation and a PCR test would perhaps be a way of keeping the borders open.

And yes - talking about WA and VIC whose go to response now is to slam shut the border.

In the Australian situation it would be useless except as 'pandemic theatre'. With the infection rate in any Australian state being well below 0.1% (probably below 0.01%), a test with 96% accuracy is providing no useful information at all, and providing either a false sense of security or a lot of false positives. If you have a plane load of 100 passengers, then you could have up to four infected passengers or up to four refused boarding because of a false positive. Can you imagine how that would go down?

This is cool NY style vaccinations. We were doing flu vax drive up and jabs last year. Funny as and safer. Like to bet we will be doing so again shortly here for flu and another type happily[thumbsupbig] We do ask people to hang about for 10 minutes to double check no adverse reactions. ( Noting we have never had one [thumbsupbig])

Everyone Working in an exposure site should require 14 days offline is needed to avoid this. Yes Victoria knows how to lockdown and implement a police state as well. Don’t panic....or stock up at home....there is nothing to see here.
