Yes, it is. I know several people who have severely impaired hearing and rely on lip reading for a lot of context and a mask makes communication extremely difficult. There is a US company that makes masks with a window for such occasions, but try getting hold of those let alone normal masks right now.

I don't know if I should be sad, mad or happy.
2 X land cruisers & a bus with trailer of police came into town this afternoon to make sure we all obey the lock down & travel ban.
Basically no in or out of Doomadgee at all. I hope we can still go out bush just to get out of "Dodge"!
The nurse I was speaking to today said if the virus gets into town 50 to 60% of the population will die due to existing chronic conditions.
This starting to stress me a bit.

I need to lip read for communication but lately anyone in a mask is a risk factor I will not bother with talking to so no, not really a problem at the moment in the wider context.
