COVID-19 in Australia: we are not Italy, Iran or Spain | Australian Government Department of Health

From the Australian Chief Medical Officer. Great read and should reassure people.

1st Covid related death in NZ

Sadly, we have our first covid-19 related death in NZ. An elderly lady with existing health issues. Sad news at today's press conference.

On the fourth day of lock-down. Our current tally of current and past cases is 514. 56 have recovered. 12 are in hospital. I think I heard that only 2 are in Intensive Care Units with only one needing a ventilator.

Small numbers compared to the rest of the world. Hopefully the lock-down was timely enough to keep things low. Politicians expectations are for further escalation due to the 10-12 day lag between infection and symptoms, political action and numbers reaction.

For me, it would be a far safer source of tucker than going into town to a shop or bakery.

I didn't know they did a fish pie in Dayboro. Jerry must be creating an earthquake, with the DTs.

My 21 year old niece here in Vic has just been confirmed as having corona virus. She is not feeling too bad, just flu type symptoms so fingers crossed she will be OK. Now her parents, sister, boyfriends etc are now in lock down.

Well I missed all that kerfuffle in the old thread. As far as I'm concerned the attitudes of all were of concern, sharing and mateship with some great discussion. Good to see Inc prepared to maintain the rules and follow through, nothing spoils a party like an agitater. Keep up the good work Mods.
