More than 40 COVID cases across greater Sydney since DEC. 16 .

Forty-three COVID-19 cases have been detected in people living in Greater Sydney outside the northern beaches outbreak epicentre this month, stoking fears that any lapse in vigilance would allow undetected chains of transmission to fester in secret.

Another two cases are in residents on the Central Coast, bringing the total number of cases outside the northern beaches to 45.

While not based on any medical evidence, personally, I would like to see the Quarantine period set at 3 or 4 weeks or as in the old quarantine days of 40 days just to be quite sure. Selfish? Quite probably but hey..... if this keeps up the only living things in my wardrobe will be Cockroaches.

Quarantine derives from a Venetian practice of 40 days detention or compulsory isolation for ships and people to prevent the spread of contagious diseases.

Govt warnings to the idiots seem to be laced with negativity & while listening to the Immigration Minister (Hawke) his speech seemed to be laced with Coulds, Mays, mights etc. What about a bit of........ Will, won't, Won't tolerate & show some balls. etc

Yobs who cannot respect the Country's laws & conditions? "Right sunshine, you're out of here yesterday if not sooner. You can swim home for all I care. See if you can have a good time with a Ventilator or when you are dead."

This will not be the last pandemic the World will see. Hotel quarantine is our weak link , it's becoming obvious. Peel Island in Moreton Bay, used to be Brisbane's quarantine station in the days of sail. It was also a leper colony, for a while. We could do worse than set it up as a quarantine station once more. Demountables, and a military field hospital, when needed wouldn't break the bank. It would be more comfortable for the quarantined, they would be able to walk in designated areas until tested positive. The place is shark infested, which would make good security. To me, after this is over, who would book into a hotel that was used for quarantine.? Just like going on a cruise ship, it would have a stigma. To justify building it it could be used as a low security prison, until needed for the other. Must ring Lock-em-out Anna, run it by her.

I totally agree bob. Just don't let the nincompoops who designed the current system anywhere the Draughting Boards of a new system.


If there is not much learned from this they have wasted valuable time.

Maybe these people could be paid on the results they achieve. If they turn out rubbish, "You're fired". No Pay.
