WA *has* to retain the hard border policy as we are completely unprepared. With regards to the WA Premier sledging the East, there's an election in a couple of months, so expect plenty of chest beating leading up to it. He's just playing to the crowd.

Don't they all. It's the nature of the beast. I see Sweden has changed its mind on lock downs, after their initial plan of relying on social distancing, and people doing the right thing, just didn't work.

    • Sweden has introduced a law that would allow the government to close restaurants, shops, and public transport to combat the spread of COVID-19.
    • The new legislation signals a major shift away from the country's initial no-lockdown approach to the pandemic.
    • A severe second wave of COVID-19 infections has prompted Sweden gradually to abandon the unique approach it first adopted towards the pandemic, when it relied on voluntary social distancing measures.
    • Anders Tegnell, the architect of Sweden's initial no-lockdown response, said last week that the COVID-19 situation showed no signs of improvement in Sweden.

I believe that if you don't tell people they can't see their granny in the Nursing home or the mother in QLD or their brother in gaol, they won't.

They only want to see them because they've been told they can't, when my Mum was in a nursing some of the people there hadn't seen anyone for years, one poor bloke hadn't seen a relative since he was put in there, he was only 30yrs old and was 24 when he went in, that shocked me as I did not know there were young people in aged care.

What annoys me the most, 12mths down the track and people still need to be told, ****wits.
    Cheers Baz.

And on the other hand there are those who have a different view of life, who visit their relatives & friends in aged care facilities on a regular basis, daily even. These are the ones that lockdowns really hit hard and the mental pain & anguish that both parties suffer is extraordinary.

Reminds me of when I was over there with the local fishing club, fishing off the beach at night. As a precaution we set up lights to warn the 4wd's coming up & down the beach that there was some one there. The lights were virtually at our feet, and yet a couple got run over. [ lights that is] . A couple of our more volatile younger members managed to get the rego numbers of the vehicles, and went just before dawn to pull the guilty people out of their sleep and explain basic beach manners. Didn't happen again. Any way, I digress. Sand between the toes, waves rolling on the beach, smell of bacon on the BBQ, what more could you want. Perhaps this playing silently in the back ground .

So I had arranged to pickup some scripts from my Doc...in Logan...which was shut down for 3 days.

Being good I put on a mask when I pulled up...the dam tie on type ....not elastic....and walked into reception, the receptionist didnt know who I was with sunnies still on and my doc stood there chuckling at me. No one had masks on.
