I believe that if you don't tell people they can't see their granny in the Nursing home or the mother in QLD or their brother in gaol, they won't.
They only want to see them because they've been told they can't, when my Mum was in a nursing some of the people there hadn't seen anyone for years, one poor bloke hadn't seen a relative since he was put in there, he was only 30yrs old and was 24 when he went in, that shocked me as I did not know there were young people in aged care.
What annoys me the most, 12mths down the track and people still need to be told, ****wits.
And on the other hand there are those who have a different view of life, who visit their relatives & friends in aged care facilities on a regular basis, daily even. These are the ones that lockdowns really hit hard and the mental pain & anguish that both parties suffer is extraordinary.Quote:

As a precaution we set up lights to warn the 4wd's coming up & down the beach that there was some one there. The lights were virtually at our feet, and yet a couple got run over. [ lights that is] . Being good I put on a mask when I pulled up...the dam tie on type ....not elastic....and walked into reception, the receptionist didnt know who I was with sunnies still on and my doc stood there chuckling at me. No one had masks on.
