Worlds first inoculation brought back to England. The refusal to use it by the men -medical religious and racist reasons, was then overcome by the daughter inlaw of the King (George the 1st) in about 1730 who used it on her daughters. Dr Jenner was part of a test after that. The test were conducted on prisoners and orphans.

Dr Jenner obsevation of milk maids lead to Vaccs ( Latin for cow) became our vaccinations. The first anti vaxxers were men, the quacks, priests and racists

Real trivia is the US now has Millions of doses of Smallpox vaccine just in case it comes back. The other bit is as it was eliminated so long ago almost none of us have any resistance to it at all

Years ago I could find two round scar-patches on my upper arms. - Mother had them too, told me they were SmallPox innoculations. Anyone older than 65 is likely to have them or equivalent, so in theory, we're "safe" from it.

From memory, Jenner was a Very Naughty Doctor in that he used his son's Best Friend as his first 'Lab-Rat'.... nothing said about Informed Consent etc.

Following your statement above, given that all medicines are classified as "poisons" by the State and Federal governments, I take it that you will no longer be using any medicines at all?


From a couple of recent posts along these lines, I'm guessing that the latest trolling by the Russians or Chinese is suggesting that the vaccines have been killing people in droves but that governments have been covering it up - notwithstanding that these claims are being freely posted on a completely unregulated internet, where you'd also think that if there had been mass deaths from vaccines there'd be plentiful evidence being posted.

Nothing like confusing apples and oranges to make a point! Mary Montagu popularised the practice of variolation, that is, deliberate infection of children with the smallpox virus, preferably from someone who survived the disease so it was hopefully a milder strain. This was already practiced in Europe and in the American colonies at least fifty years earlier (referred to by S.Sewall in Boston, late 17th century), but was not popular, partly because there were a lot of deaths. It has been suggested that the smallpox virus was brought to Australia by a doctor in the first fleet as a routine part of his medical kit, and either accidentally or deliberately spread to the highly susceptible aboriginal population over much of the country, largely depopulating the land.

Jenner, in contrast to this, used the vaccinia virus to vaccinate people, using this virus had the advantage of a lot fewer deaths, while still providing immunity to smallpox. However, Jenner almost certainly copied other practitioners, although given the poor communications at the time it is possible he did not know of them. But what he did was publish and push the practice, hence both his being credited with it, and the pushback he experienced.

When Australia reopens its international borders (We will have to at some stage) COV19 will return to our shores with a vengance because this virus isn't simply going to dissapear like Scotch Mist any time soon.
So we have 2 choices, Take up the vaccine or run the risk of getting COV19.
Personally taking a TINY risk getting vaccinated is Much preferable to getting the virus itself and possibly dying from it and IF I do survive have to put up with the myriad of other ongoing health problems due to the damage to my body caused by contracting COV19.

I wonder how many people in India are refusing to get vaccinated, That is IF the poor bastards have access to the vaccination in the first place.
