Premier Berejiklian asks for more Pfzer vaccines, as the COVID cluster grows to double figures. Perhaps the vaccination process should be a race. Against the virus.

There is a special hotel only used for international aircrew to keep them separate from everyone else in HQ. She had tested negative 3 times and only tested positive after she left HQ.
People who test positive are moved to hospital infection control wards. An example is the Melbourne couple who tested positive on arrival and were sent to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
I can report long lines at the Caloundra Indoor Sports Centre vaccination hub, but they are talking walk-ins.
Wife has just had a Pfizer jab (she's a nurse) and is waiting 15 mins for release.
I see Qld vaxed 80,000 people in the last week, but only gets 52,000 Pfizer a week, not likely to be increased until August, so may be a shortage looming.
Yes but she got it from a positive person also housed at the Hotel - why were negative people being housed in the hotel as positive people. The positive person was in the hotel not in a infection control ward of a hospital.
As I indicated they are not learning the lessons.

My point^ exactly 101.
At least you know there is a second one set aside for her in 21 days regardless . (Assuming it is her first shot)
As the other half and in higher risk of covid contact because of her work are you also able to be prioritized for vaccination? (Assuming you haven't as yet, no idea just curious how it works with front line workers immediate families/contacts)
Doesn't seem to be a priority in Queensland. My wife has had a few tests, owing to her occupation but there appears to be no official stance on my position. My wife has instigated our own restrictions, which have curtailed my gallivanting somewhat but with which, I fully understand.

I've already had the first Astra Zeneca from my GP, and pestered her into also getting jabbed.
The Caloundra vaccination hub is only offering Pfizer, so that's what she got. She has a date for her second dose.
There seems to be some kind of 'vaccine envy' developing worldwide, with people actually boasting about which vaccine they had. That's a bit strange. Do people boast about which influenza vaccine they had?
Actually, now I think about it, I may have mentioned in conversation that I had the 'old farts' flu jab, which has 4 variants, not the normal 3, or is stronger, or something. Oh well, I guess that is vaccine one-upmanship.

I would have preferred the pfizer simply to not have to factor in the blood clotting (however rare).
That did not influence me one little bit as far as actually getting vaccinated went.
I had been chomping at the bit since a vaccine was announced to get anything into me b4 our nations luck runs out and we end up with the pandemic everyone has already had.
With some more luck (no credit will be given to polititians) we all make it through into next year and finally to majority vaccinated without a breakout, but if we don't I will be gratefull my vaccination was done as early as possible with what was available at the time.
Plus it is a kinda good thing those boasting about mine is better than yours coz at least the buggers have had it.
Our follow up yearly/periodical shots will end up as MRNA types anyway so all equal in the end for astra people that may think they somehow missed out on the newer technology.
