What the hell is this "Beach Permit" BS you speak of?
Some local councils will stoop down to anything to raise revenue and these CCTV cameras to check that the locals have paid their "Vigorish" just to enter the beach are just another revenue raiser.

Permits have been around forever in Queensland.....

I support the idea of permits otherwise the already busy beaches would be even more busier.

Keep in mind Bribie is pretty much Brisbane.

Camera won’t bother me as I comply.

Either way the freebies are pretty keen to close the beach to 4WD’s due to the disruption of turtles nesting.

The other month I was up their teaching my daughter and her girlfriend beach driving I stopped counting the number of 4WD @ 400.

The permits also (theoretically) fund the clean up and works around the area.

I have no issue with a small fee for this access.

Still a good place to watch the sun come up. But like most places now, don't even think about it during holidays. I wouldn't go to Fraser now, too busy, there are better places. But like many QLDer's, I won't advertise them.

Permits for camping also keep a record of who camped where, when. Good for grubs whose camp hygiene in non existent, a La toilet paper and human excrement, which we confronted once. Had no qualms about tracking down the Ranger and pointing this out to him.

Its a shame it won't stop the ones that shouldn't be there.They just take their plates off,cover them up, or whatever.

I also agree i don't mind paying a fee,hopefully it also reduces the number of people around as well.
And reduces the people that don't do the right thing.

As for Fraser island,yes,the place IMHO,is now ruined.
I spent quite a few years there late 60's and early seventies,so know what it used to be like.
I was last there in '99,and there were 60 vehicles waiting for the barge.
No intention of returning.

As others have said there are much better and quieter places to go,just as nice.

Went to fraser 18 months or so ago, sure it’s changed but that’s going to keep happening no matter where we go.

It was my wife’s first trip and she loved the place.

There ain’t any other place in qld that really compares with Fraser

We do prefer Moreton out of the big three (fraser, North straddle and Moreton)

Our new favorites are Curtis and Facing Island.

Have a read of this by a local bloke from Dayboro who, sadly, passed away last year. It's about his cattle lease on Curtis.
