For the past year we've been planning and getting everything ship shape to go away and do a whole load of campground hosting in SA, NSW, WA and NT. Police checks, working with childrens checks (5 of them) nation parks mandated four wheel drive certification (which taught us nothing new), remote area first aid certs, house sitters, etc., etc. We intended to be away fo a year going from national park to national park around the country.

Plans are now kaput but at least we have a years worth of placements set up which means that as soon as the campground hosting programmes restart we'll be away.
    Cheers,

My mate is assisting a friend ferry a large yacht from Thailand to England, they started in December and now are stuck in the Mediterranean. Food for 6 days left, bad weather and no port will accept them.

Yes our son wanted to come home from Japan mid July to the middle of August, to see his dad. I went to the travel agent and they said not to book anything at the moment, they said wait until end of June and see where this goes. If he did come home at this time he would have to be self isolation for 14 days which wouldn't work as Mario is in self isolation, by order of this Dr. as he doesn't want Mario out in the public because of the MSA. It would be fatal for him if he caught it. Brendon was upset over it but he does understand why. So everyone stay safe and healthy out there. Heather

PLEASE don't come up here unless somehow the virus is completely gone by then. I realise you're waiting to see what happens, but if there is any doubt, please don't travel up here. This virus is incredibly contagious and our hospitals can barely manage regular life - a few cases of this would overwhelm them. The RFDS is usually stretched pretty thin as well, so it wouldn't take much to slow them down too. From what's happening overseas, I'm expecting the rest of the year to be taken up dealing with this thing.

The dry season is really important to us up here because it's the only break we get from the heat. (Well, it's sort of a break.) I was all set to do a lot of travelling this dry season and I've pretty much written it off already!
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

No family visitors mid-year either by the looks so will find out closer to the time if Kakadu in July is possible for us to go camping.

We had a visit to Melbourne booked for next Thu-Sat for a concert which was cancelled, refund on the tickets is coming and Hotels.com changed our booking for accomodation from non refundable so that we can get a refund. Flights are rescheduled until September at this stage so we'll see what happens by then.
All in all a pretty good outcome. We were planning another trip from Batten Hill in June but It doesn't look like that will be going ahead.

We had our few days in regional Vic straight after the fire risk subsided and before sowing activities started, which turned out to be good timing for other reasons.

One of my mates and his wife had a cruise canceled that was going through South East Asia, including a couple of stops in China. They then booked a Mediterranean cruise with a couple of stops in Italy. Now that has been canceled as well. He breathed a sigh of relief when he got more than 95% of his money back from his insurance policy. I hear others haven't been so lucky.
