Our portable fire pit is this:

Like many on here the garden seems to loom large in list of tasks. It is though spring here and so would be doing it anyway.
Hedges gave had their first hair cut of the year. Cut down one of the plum trees that died over the winter. If course this was the one that produced the sweetest plums. Suppose will make the others taste better as do not have the comparison.
Also cut back the apple trees so they are manageable. Took the top off the cherry tree so have half a chance of beating the birds who are on the tree at dawn looking for any that are ripe
Bought a lawn mower as a present for the kids. Told them they need to learn to use it as is a life skill they need to have mastered
Have not owned a lawn mower for about 20 years. Have a neighbour who likes to cut grass and have a deal with him. Unfortunately he is now almost 80 and needs to isolate so have said to him not to cut and we will look after his lawn. Better we use our own mower as he is a little particular about looking after his mower
That's an impressive firepit, but it looks bulky.
The beauty of our Snow Peak is it folds up flat and fits in a small bag.
The youngest son got the bowl out of an old washing machine, welded legs on and made a cheap, but bulky, fire pit.
A nice gesture to the "olde" (almost 80)! bloke & even though you may have been slipping him a quid or two it is still not a job one looks forward to doing, especially if the garden has uphill sections unless it is a self propelled job.
It will also allow your mower to be run in. There's a plan. Why not allow him to use it to cut your lawns as he obviously likes to look after Mowers?
Job done.
