Geeeeezzzzzzz, you don't look olde enough to warrant that title.

I understood Steering wheel knobs were outlawed in SA some years ago for being unsafe in that if you hit a kerb it caused the wheel to spin suddenly. Was an exemption made in your case or have the Govt. had a rethink? I assume it is there to assist steering effort?

    Obviously not in your situation.

No Des, R.R. Leake was an early politician, even earlier than the "unconventional" Don D. He stated, and I quote "A wretched place to live." and "I doubt it is a fit place for the Caucasian race to live."
Being the mid nineteenth century, his comments may have predated the South Australian Tourist Bureau.
It has been said of RRL, that he was never short of a miserly phrase.

They are illegal, except the ones for disability, they are very different to the ones could buy in retail car shops and its illegal for me to drive without one, but illegal for others to drive with them. I've been using a spinner knob for over a decade now, as my right hand doesn't function to steer but the specific hand control I have, works with the not functioning right hand. I had to have a couple of lessons with spinner knob back in the day and it put on my licence.
So in a nutshell only those with medical exemptions can use them. I've just had a spinner knob upgrade with the new one! Has buttons to work indicators, high beam, horn and window wipers

Good to see "The White Flash of Mt Barker" back in it's rightful place!

What's the Scania truck in the background? Who does that belong to? (3rd photo)

Thank you for that explanatory reply,ED. Was a tad puzzling to see it there.

Your "Cockpit" is looking more akin to one suited more to a Spitfire/Lancaster than a Land Rover.

This is my previous one, that I've used for over a decade, it's been through a couple cars! It's in my car somewhere and will likely end up back in the panelvan which was its original home (that was my first disability modded car) or in the Impala. It's been good that I've had to use them for ao long as it means im used to one aspect of hand control driving already so it's much easier to adjust to. You can't have hand controls without then having to use one.
Haha I think its so cool!

Ah ha, I see you had the sense to fit an original Mk V11 rear sight to catch out those tail end Johnnies? Spiffing, that. A good move, as you really couldn't trust them. And do I spot a genuine MK 1100000000 Map case between the door & the seat? I dooooooo.
