Used to make my own bangers with black powder. Feed them lit to the cane toad who will eat anything placed in front of it. They then hop off and expand like a toad fish but are tough enough contain the explosion so no mess. Gather up and dispose of dead toads. Not economic but young enough at the time to be amused. As they died instantly was considered to be human.

We used Dieldren(spelling) on them in my day.Couple of spoonfuls down the nest,and they would never be seen again.It was deadly stuff.Green ant nests got the same treatment.Small nests a teaspoon of the poison was all that was needed.Originally Posted by Tombie

As for Toads,we did al sorts of things to them.Air rifles,golf clubs,fire crackers,metho,etc,etc.

I'd live in Whyalla , but swmbo wouldn't.
I'd live in any of the SA coastal towns backlit by the Flinders Ranges.
And then there's the SA deserts , which I love and have many friends living and working there on cattle stations.
Thats why I travel into those areas a couple of times each year.

They've probably got equal knowledge about four wheel driving generally and Land Rover in particular.

They're harmless, so I just pick them up, take them outside and put them under a bush for protection from the butcher bird family which have adopted our backyard as a home territory.
The young butchie came to visit me at breakfast today and tried to steal my toast.

My, relatively new, assistant manager is a bit like that.
He is very good at telling me how good he is.
He is also very good at telling others they are wrong, that they should think/believe what he thinks/believes & he also likes to tell everyone what he has done & where he has been.
No matter what some has done he has done it bigger & better. No matter where someone has been he has been there & it was better when he was there.
He is also just a little condescending to most people.
Basically an obnoxious, opinionated person who is not very good at his job.
One of the main reasons I have an assistant manger is so I can take time off, during the 2 longer breaks I have had (4.5 weeks & 1.5 weeks) he has called me constantly & 1 time called my Boss to get me back here.
But he is really good at his job, knows it all plus some & has lots of opinions on how to fix all the worlds problems. Pity he can't fix some Roadhouse problems.
Anyway, I consider myself very lucky to have him since anything I am in anyway unsure of he will have the answer, in fact, even if I am sure & have done it a thousand times before he will tell me how to do it.
Just as well I'm a **** listener!
