How many times do we see this - a truck cleaning up vehicles parked in the breakdown lanes or collecting vehicles stopped at roadworks etc.

Try driving on the M7 in Sydney as see how professional our "professional drivers" are.

FWIW, there was a similar accident on the M1 Freeway near Hahndorf (formerly known as the South Eastern Freeway ) when a woman waiting in her car in the Emergency Lane for her son to arrive & change a tyre, broad daylight, when a Semi ploughed into her car. Curtains!

Son arrived & Mother was dead.

I told 'er indoors if she is ever in that situation, to stick the hazards on, vacate the car & if possible, walk back down the road on the outside of the Armco & wait for assistance from the RAA with all their Road Guarding paraphernalia.

Never heard what happened there, whether the truckie was having a sticky beak or dozed off it being towards the end of his trip from Melbourne & he got a bit sleepy.

    Maybe Eevo attended that one.

The Commissioner described yesterdays as the worst day for VICPOL since officers were killed in the days of the Ned Kelly shoot out at Glenrowan.
A bugger of a way to get into the Record Books.

Was up last night when this hit the media. I can’t believe the bloody grubs who were replying on the channel 7 social media with their filth.

i hope that vicpol track them all down and give them what for. It was absolutely disgusting.they were celebrating the fact that four police Officers had died.

    What has society come to

So if the news report is true , the porsche driver took photos and posted them on social media after legging it from the crash scene.

I cant comprehend what on earth would make something think to do that. hopefully karma comes his way...

I will speculate that he is a grub, on bail for other offences and tested positive for drugs.
BUT He wasn't responsible for the accident the truck was.
it would have been a routine pull over had the truck not plowed into them.

I would speculate that your speculation of him is likely correct. In a way he was responsible for the accident , if he wasn't driving the way he was the cops wouldn't have been there and the truck likely would have hit the railing or wall or whatever was off to the side.
