    Now a REAL Landie owner

I don't believe what I've done, the wife is gonna kill me when she finds out.
I've had one of those times when you follow the heart and definately not the brain. It all happened the other day whilst travelling back from work. I spotted a series troopie Diarrhoea yellow sitting all alone in the corner of a car yard. Naturally I stopped to investigate as one does and to my suprise discover it's not in all that bad nick considering the age. windscreen surround is hole ridden original diesel is very smokie and only 1 months rego, but I loved it (especially the thought of stripping the roof and driving top and doorless I took it for a run scary, very scary but I had to have it, salesman said $700.00 I told him I'd think about it. Got in the disco and drove off (disco felt like a porsche in comparison). I called him this morning said I'll give him $500.00 he agreed. Oh $^!# what to tell the missus.

    Advantages:
I can wave at myself in the drive when the other miserable plonks of Landie owners around the area won't
    I have 2 landies now
According to RobHay's description Ï am now Real Landie owner.
Better approach / departure angles than the D2

    Disadvantages:
I'll feel the wrath of the wife when she gets home
Expense of getting the thing through rego in a months time
    A s^&*load less power than my TD5
No power steering, climate control, carpet etc etc etc

P.S. When the wife kills me tonight who would like me to leave my toys to them in my will?

g said I'll give him $500.00 he agreed.

and hand her a blank check.
But only to the tune of $500 though.

It will be our secret that it will probably cost you a bomb over the years on top of, but by that time you will have worked out all the devious lurks that can get you around this.
"Oh, look dear, look what I found in my toolbox. I knew it/they would come in handy one day" as you show her a a new set of brake linings, wheel bearings etc. A new front bumper might be pushing your luck but you could try.
AND always have 'disappearing' invoices/receipts & never, never use a Credit Card if she pays the bills.

Not that I would ever be so devious & stress that I have only been told these things by others. Yeah, right!

The main thing, and the best thing is to buy it first and weather the storm later, as with all storms, eventually talking from first hand experience ( like Im the only one ) they go away.

Besides, it's then too late & the bloke you bought it from has just gone overseas/gone to Gaol for 10 years/passed away etc.

Two days ago I told her we were going to trade her car in and get her a Defender so she stops nicking the disco to tow her horses. She didn't like the idea of a car loan, I've just come to a compromise

    She wins

    I win

    Whats the problem
