Correct, but I think you will find that countries that experienced SARS outbreaks had the daylights scared out of them by MERS, even if it did not get to them.
And some get shot by jealous husbands.

Since 2012, MERS has been reported in 27 countries including Algeria, Austria, Bahrain, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Islamic Republic of Iran, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Oman, Philippines, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, and Yemen. Approximately 80% of human cases reported by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Cases identified outside the Middle East are people who were infected in the Middle East and travelled to areas outside the Middle East. On rare occasions, small outbreaks have occurred in areas outside the Middle East.
I didn't mean to sound rude to Evo, and I apologise for that. There is a reason Taiwan didn't have MERs.
The reason Taiwan is not in that list is because it learnt the lessons from SARS in 2002-3 and was able to adopt the measures to prevent MERs coming in.
It also did well to suppress the 2019 SARS-Cov 2 outbreak in China from exploding in Taiwan back in December, when China first warned of an outbreak. Hong Kong and Singapore also acted early, based on previous experience.
