    Actually no.....it was quite surprising.

At the end of each day the skipper would with back up to the breach of it was a steep drop off or we would use the tender.

We would each take our swag, over night bag and some mozzie net and set up camp and start a fire.

while we were doing this the deck hand would grab the esky (we would each put out order in) and nibbles and bring them to shore.

An hour or so later the tender would grab us for dinner on the boat than drop us back on the beach.

The crew slept on the boat, the skipper would sweep with a spotlight a few times each night looking for red eyes.

Only once it all the years he operated did he have a croc between the boat (which was beach due to big tides) and the guests.

It surprised us all, except one couple as if was their third trip. Didn’t really sleep the first couple of nights but ended getting good nights sleep, figured he had it under control. BTW skipper said he had never sell on the beach The end of cruise ships, as we know them?

One night we were up a river, we slept on a big rock ledge, had two crocs patrolling all night.

One of the beach’s was also where he stashed/hid 44 gallons of diesel over the wet season so that he could refuel. Guests had to roll the 44’s down the beach and help with refueling. Off course it was bottom of the ride when we pulled up.

Once in a life time trip....very small boat, great crew of three, awesome fishing and site seeing, rescuing turtles, chasing down tender from cruise ships.

I am willing to bet that the majority of people that go on those cruises havent seen all of their home State let alone what the rest of Australia has to offer.
    NO imagination some people
I dunno.....there is more to the world the australia.

Our overland trip has changed course a little, we are now going to do australia for 18months to two years (12 months doing WA over).

Than ship the car to Asia and start heading west, pending funds....I’m looking forward to this leg way more than boring old AUS.

That boat wasn't painted ship side grey, was it? Sounds very much like life on a patrol boat in the North , you left out the bit about sneaking up into the mangroves to arrest the Indonesian trochus shell gatherers hiding out between trips to the reefs. I felt sorry for them, they've been doing it for many, many years. Just now it's illegal .You could smell them before you saw them. A tough life, a long way from home, living on fish and crabs , they knew where every fresh water source was. Had to admire them, really. Out of necessity we had to know every little hidey hole, but what a great way to see the North West. And the fishing at Rowley shoals & Scott reef, not to mention the huge oysters on the eastern side of North Wessel Island , near Gove. A paradise. I certainly hope man hasn't wrecked it yet.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

Did you have a go at driving a tinnie into the huge whirlpools? You whip around at a great rate of knots and fly out , better than a theme park.

I don't think that Pink is really your colour Paul. Clashes a bit with the Silver of the Fish.

Alby Mangles, on going from rags to riches, and back. We had an unfortunate link to Alby, back in Darwin, in the 80's. He had a ship anchored in the harbour, and a couple of our young seamen thought of a way to make a bit of pocket money. We had some old head & stern ropes, a little worse for wear, which when replaced , our budding entrepreneur's sold to Alby. Unknown to them, Customs and Police were about to raid Alby's boat over drug accusations. Now, every RAN rope has a distinctive coloured thread woven into the middle , and they were busted. Any way, Alby.

If you head inland from the Wyndham and head towards the mouths of the Pentecost and the Durack rivers you come to an area called "The Gut" 30+m of water with massive upwellings and whirlpools when the tide is running, Makes for an "Interesting" boat trip
