Several years ago we went on a trip through the horizontal waterfall on a rigid inflatable with 4 count em 4 200HP Yamahas.

We booked in Derby with a small operator and the trip left from Kooljaman across King Sound and into the Horizontal waterfall.

It was far far cheaper and IMHO more enjoyable than flying in etc.

We passed Sunday Island and the whirlpools in King Sound were fascinating. Crazy missionaries who lived there and rafted to the mainland on the tide.
I was amazed at the iron ore mine on Cockatoo? Island.
We had lunch on a white silica beach on a small island and saw lots of whales.
Unfortunately I think they went broke maybe due to the difficulty of people getting to Cooljaman early in the morning as it is often booked out. We stayed at One Arm Point and got up early to get there.
    Regards PhilipA

The mouth of the Pentecost is a long way from the mouth of the Drysdale, from memory. But my memory is not as good as it was. The Drysdale empties into Napier Broome Bay, the Pentecost into Cambridge Gulf. Still wild and wooly places, I hope they never change.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

No bad, when it comes to the Kimberley's, nothing wrong with the Durack. That name reeks of history, the story of the Duracks' is an epic Australian story.

    Edit.
    The Durack family were
pioneers in the settlement of the area by Europeans
. The story of her family's history, beginning with the
    mid-19th century migration from Ireland
, is presented by Durack in Kings in Grass Castles, and its sequel, Sons in the Saddle.

Carnival wants to continue cruising in September! Are they crazy? If Trump allows that, well, words fail me. . You have to be joking. Edit not Australia.

Any way, Alby.

I remember lining up at the local community cinema to watch the latest World Safari. The curvy assistants were a bonus.
