    An interesting section 3T.

I particularly could relate to the Operation Tiger. Slapton Sands.

I have visited Slapton & Dartmouth & read the story on the monument. It was difficult to imagine that incident & as for the Story of hundreds of unknown Service personell Bodies buried inland to cover this disaster, it may never be verified, but one day someone may spill the beans.

Another description, scroll to about half-way down, large text box. Jack was the Salvage Officer in Bombay (now Mumbai) harbour at the time.

    Jack passed away aged 74.

I recall a story about a bar of gold being found some miles away... we know that because.....the Indian Gentleman who found it, handed it it in to Police.

, how about a ship being picked up and dumped ON a wharf. !

On a Wharf? How about the one on a Warehouse Roof?

Oh dear, the same ship & shed?
Bloody Jerry built shed! Council Building Specs obviously didn't foresee a ship landing on a roof.

    Well you wouldn't would you?

I've always been more than happy with the results of Jerry built projects, even if he did build his own house with a snow-shedding pitch, north of Brisbane.

He/she obviously knows summat you don't know,

I realise Brissie weather can be changeable but that scenario is extreme to say the least. No surfboard sales but plenty of Skis, woolly hats & funny boots.

An interesting read on the "lost" mines near Ypres in Belgium. 80,000 pounds of explosive makes a large bang.

Myths of Messines: The ‘Lost Mines’ | Simon Jones Historian

We stayed at Ypres and had a look around the battle fields and the Menin Gate a couple of years ago, a fascinating and sombre place to visit.
