So the RAF would prefer to drop a 1,000lb-er or two on someone rather than have them offended by the historic name of a pooch?

It doesn't matter whether it's new or old, it was an offensive term then and it's an offensive term now. It's not a term whose meaning has changed over time, like, "fantastic" or for that matter, "gay", it was always used as a term of racial abuse.

And the fact that members of the RAF felt comfortable calling a dog by that name, and actually putting it on a headstone, condemns them and the organisation.

I'm guessing that none of you have lived in the USA or the UK and I assure you that prejudice against black people is a very visible and live part of both societies, the US more so.

Stop with the Pink Floyd references again.......

When I was at the vet a while ago, the old lady before me called her black lab as they were leaving - yep, that name - the vet told me after she left that’s the 3rd generation of black lab she’s called the n word and she was oblivious to the offence it would cause some.

FFS , next thing the PC Police will wanting me to change my dogs name from Rastus . Well the council and the Vets are fine with Rastus but google tells me its offensive. VicRoads are even happy with it as there is a car with same rego, I know because I tried to get it and its already taken.

If people are offended by certain words, its those people with the issue , deal with it and stop inconveniencing others.
