In a post a few days ago , I suggest to Harry not to “do” Nolan’s Brook, but just drive in ,enjoy the drama ,and drive away.
i have since then searched Nolan’s Brook on a type of electronic media and viewed some video of people ,in and out of automobiles at the aforementioned place.
Nothing wrong with fun I suppose, but I do wonder at Charles’s theory sometimes.

Tough Ian. I know a lot of people who dropped out of Uni
"But university failure is depressingly common. Our study in a large Australian university found up to 52% of students in education, civil engineering, nursing and commerce failed at least one unit during their degree. Failure is painful and costly for students, teachers and universities." "Nearly 14 per cent of students over 21 years old leave their first degree courses before the start of their second year. Of those who drop out, nine in 10 leave higher education altogether"
On the Jeep Road tires and clearly a LONG bog effort on his part
Bet he needed a puddle or two with that long line behind him. I did think his comment about a 60km stroll a bit dramatic but I love running that far or did 12 months and 15 days ago
On the plus He DID make it out which is a adventure he will remember of a long time and be reminded about for ever![]()
Way over-dramatic - "lucky to be alive"??
I checked the weather records for Esperance for last Sunday & Monday and there was a top of 17.7 on Sunday and 24.5 on Monday and no rain on either day. Cape Arid is about 150kms east of Esperance, but the weather wouldn't be wildly different to that. Those temps, in the absence of rain, and even with an overnight low of 4, really aren't dangerous. And there was evidently water around to be drunk, so, no, he wasn't in mortal danger.

I did the same thing. 'Parks' say the month of July has 12°/17° temps and the weather can be 'Unpleasant' but it wasn't too bad, apparently. He also had 2.4 litres of water so, in the above temps, he shouldn't have had too much trouble in the 12 hour stroll, although that goes against the 8 litres of IV that the hospital supposedly administered. He must have scoffed his bottled water pretty quickly!
Something just doesn't sit right with me with this.![]()

I think that the ****** was just getting his 15 minutes of fame.
And it’s worked... Lols
I have 5 nephews/nieces - so far 2 of them are uni drop outs, 1 finished uni.
I think it’s a character kind of thing - some people have grit and some don’t.
Some people think that they know better.
All I know is - this bloke seems like an attention seeking flog!

I have never driven on the mud flats so know very little about them except to avoid them. Would the tracks dry out over a couple of days to allow you to back track out on them?
A DEFINITE NO to that question, The secret IF and that is a bloody BIG IF you absolutely HAVE to cross a salt flat, mud flat or black soil plain is to NOT follow ANY track that has already broken through the crust.
Best NOT to cross these areas at all if it is at all humanly possible, Go around them at all times.![]()
