A few months ago we ordered some Rose plants from a nursery west of Sydney, they were PU by AP on the 23rd June heading to Brisbane from there they went to Murwillumbah arriving 27th June then to Molendinar (Gold Coast) from there they went back to Brisbane & then to Redbank. From Redbank they usually go to Heathwood or to our PO Box Darra Post Office, instead they went back to Brisbane then to Pinkenba, where they sat for 3 days. I contacted AP & was told they are within shipping time, this was the last day of their shipping time. I then received a new updated delivery time which was another 7 days. I then contacted the supplier who contacted AP & low & behold our roses were at our PO Box the next morning.
WE at the same time we had another delivery went from Melbourn to Brisbane to Redbank & back to Brisbane about 6 times so delivery took 2 weeks.
One week later My wife had some Medication coming from the Gold Coast express post (the doctor in Sydney will only send the prescriptions to the chemist on the Gold Coast) I received a text from AP saying our package was coming that morning, so I worked in the front garden waiting for him. Our usual Postman was on a week's leave (School Holidays) the postman rode up the road put the card into the letter box & kept going with no attempt to deliver he medication, I thought it was the junk mail man who rides a ex poste bike. On retrieving the card, I found he had taken the package to the Post Office that is in a large shopping centre instead of to the Chemist ( AP Agency) which is only 2 minutes' drive away. I rang AP complaints & was told it would be redirected to the Chemist, I then received a mail locker code for the Post Office at the Shopping Centre. The next morning we were about to go to fetch the package when a ute from Aust Post stopped across out drive way with our package.
I have to agree, they've completely lost the plot. Any other business in this day and age who's work load increases, gears up, gets more staff and gets on with it, harvesting the profits that come with it. Not AP, they fumble the job and winge about the workload. We live 1/2 hr from the PO and too often have to have someone drive an hour round trip during business hours to collect something that could have been left in the mailbox. The manager there is a fantastic bloke who will go out of his way to assist, but is hampered by work practices from another era.
The other thing we get here is other courier co's who accept the job of delivering to our address and get paid for it, then ring or text to say we're outside their delivery area, so can we call and pick up our package again during their hours and at our expense, and another hour round trip GRRRRRRRR!!
Don.
Same here. Lazy bastards,. seems it is too much trouble to get off their "Scooter"
Some even have said the driveway is dangerous so take it to a PO a few km away.
Funny that, we have had container & skip trucks come right to the house "No probs say those drivers "a piece of cake etc." AP has always been a joke & still is it seems. A bit like it's former connection to the PMG days. Execs seem to get paid millions with Bonuses & still can't organise their way out of a wet paper bag.
When I rang complaints, I was told it is not the postman's job to get off his bike, if it won't fit through the slot, it back to the post office with it. I wouldn't mind if it went back to the one he picked it up from because that is where my PO Box is, but to take it to a different PO where there is no parking that's not on. Our usual postman has to be close to the best if not best in AU. If it won't fit through the slot he opens the gate & door in back of letter box & puts it in & if he needs as signature he knocks &gives me time to open the door, if that fails takes it to the Chemist. He is always up for a chat[smilebigeye]. AP sent me two surveys after the two complaints, out of 10 I gave them 0 in booth then ripped into them to why. I think that is why they delivered my wife's medication in the ute.[smilebigeye]
Arrr yes Australia post you got to love/hate them. When we had the business we sold a propshaft and it was going to a subrub which was 1/2 drive from our place. Any way as I use to track all our customers orders it was just showing in transit for a few days, and then it came up that it was in S.A. We got on to our customer and he want it before the weekend as he was going away, so Mario drove down with a new shaft for him. I got on to Australia post to get it moving again and asked that it be sent back to us as the customer has a new one because Mario drove it to him. They said it would be $28 dollars to redirect I said it was your fault that it went to S.A. I paid the 28 there and then so we could get it back. Then I rang again and got on to there supervisor told him how disgusted I was on there service and how I had to pay the 28 so we could get it back. Any way they refunded the 28 back to use. And you wouldn't believe this they sent it to our customer,, and our customer took it to the post office and they charged him $13 to send back to us. After 13 years dealing with Australia post, I really could write a book about all there stuff ups. It is only that we track all our customers orders and we let them know if it was going to be delivered that day, or that it has gone back to there post office for pick up. I don't think any bricks and mortar could beat our service for our customers. Heather
