A Navara D40. Only one of the cars I've had in my life that I actually hated. It was also such a problem child
Freelander TD4 ...the only car i have ever bought new and my first Land Rover. Steering rack was only connected to the firewall on one side from the factory which was a shock when it went straight ahead on a roundabout in the first weeks of ownership. Could have been very bad if it was at speed or if someone less experienced was driving. Then blew the engine with only 60k on it just out of warranty turning $53000 into $1500 of scrap in 4 years. It was the BMW engine that we bought this car for thinking it would be a quality item yet it was the BMW part that went wrong. It was a VERY long time before i could even think of another Land Rover.
100% agree. We got our daughter into one that eventually cost us a fortune. The turbo shaft snapped and spat pieces into the intercooler and oil into the cat. She was on the way to Hell's Gate from Wagga and doing the speed limit when it happened. We paid for the bloke out there to fix it, only to be told a couple of months later, that the timing chain and injectors were also on the way out. She traded it on a new Dmax which has been faultless for the 5 or 6 years she's had it.
Don.
I feel your pain,
One of my sons had one of those.
After that thing i swore never to go near a Nissan ever again, and haven't.
Not only did it have issue after issue i noticed the interior door trims were falling apart and starting to fall off, but as it was two days out of warranty,Nissan decided after much complaining from us, that it wasn't a warranty issue.
The best they could do was supply the new trim pieces, at half price as long as we paid to have them fitted at their quoted price of just over $1200 for the two.
Thanks, but no thanks.A bit of superglue here and there, and they were sorted and the vehicle sold.
Holden Equinox. Partner has one as a work vehicle and it's bloody awful to drive. Makes my old Captiva look good...

Its cool I am not the only one with stories to tell about a D40I've had a few other Nissans, they were ok, still no landie though
After reading this thread, I can say that I'm a very lucky man, in that I've never owned a crappy car. I've had a couple of Holdens, a Valiant, Mazda, Volvo and a mix of Landies and Rangies. At present : a 2018 Kia Cerato, '93 'cruiser tilly and a D3.
I can honestly state that I have never had a major issue with any of these vehicles.
I have to say that my dear old Dad had several problems with a couple of Falcons in the 70's. Ford even gave him a brand new replacement for one of the really bad ones.

A Leyland badged series 3 109 Ute. It wasn't my last series vehicle, but it was the worst.
